What Does Not RAW: Desire | FEB 15th 2023

What Does Not RAW is a recurring night of curated storytelling that pairs uncensored human experiences with unrestricted creativity - always on a chosen theme. And always seeking to prove we have more in common than we have differences. The team's recipe for bridging London's subcultures and niches has been working a treat ever since last May, when the concept was first hosted at Brixton Studio, Soho House. 

Now, the tribe of regulars and fans are joining WDN as the RAWs take to the road, to bring their cure for loneliness to a vibey venue near you. 

February's theme: Desire

By desire, we don't just mean the raw attraction to a tall, dark stranger, or the craving for 6 figures. We'll unpack desire. From your heart's desire to being consumed by desire to tales of dealing with unmet desire - anything can feasibly be the object of our longing. Previous themes have included: resilience, courage, acceptance, deviance, mind, bodies - and compliments and conflicts. 

This month the event series takes place in the heart of Soho at The Arts Theatre Club. Come along to hear real and unedited life stories told by everyday humans - what if you have more in common with people you have nothing in common with? And if you fear public speaking more than death, a common occurrence, don't sweat it. Speakers are carefully selected before the event. But if you're inspired to speak - you potentially can at a future RAW.

About the organiser: What Does Not is a culture agency and creative incubator giving the term inclusivity the meaning it always intended to have, while taking chances on those that others won't. Human connection is at the heart of everything they do - and especially the RAWs which tear down preconceived notions preventing true connection and opportunity. By rebranding resilience, they're bringing the cool, edge, and belonging needed for navigating this age of uncertainty and change.
