SDGs has become a buzzword in marketing in Japan, but what really are they and how can we use them as Individuals? 
Youth from across the world will come together to discuss in simple terms what SDGs are and how can they be applied to introduce sustainability into work and personal life.

Philip Nguyen
Founder and CEO of Mamoru
Philip graduated from UCLA in Earth and Environmental Science and World Arts and Cultures in 2011 and moved to Japan to study radiation safety at Kyoto University. In 2016, after obtaining his PhD, he established his social venture, Gochiso, to support nonprofits and the food industry in Japan. In 2020, he worked on his new venture, mamoru, to accelerate actions for sustainability. mamoru is a map-based app that connects people to sustainability-focused places, products, and events."

Saurabh Nanda 
International Youth Mentor and SDG Promoter
Saurabh is the official Education Mentor for Delhi University Colleges like Gargi and SSCBS (College of Business Studies), NIT (Managerial Society National Institute of Technology) Jalandhar, and YUNGA Japan. He is a promoter of mental wellness and has conducted more than 150 webinars since 2020 to make 4000+ students, parents and educators aware about cyber bullying across India and the Middle East. His podcast Such Conversations Matter talks about subjects like Sustainability, Inclusive Education, Global Citizenship, Mental Wellness and more. His student mentees are working on sustainability projects such as textile pollution, mental wellness, menstrual hygiene, gender equality, non-partisan politics and much more. He was nominated for a National Level Award in 2021 for his work towards Cyber Bullying and Mental Health by the largest media house in India. He is currently co-curating a fellowship for young adults to learn from indigenous peoples in North East India.

Zulfadila Hira Permana 
Sustainability Management and Community Building Consultant
Ira’s sustainability journey started when she lived in Japan, as part of Awaji Youth Federation (AYF) fellowship. It continued when she led a project on developing a sustainable tourism destination in Wakatobi, South-East Sulawesi. Wishing to elevate her field experiences and networks, she is now an ASEAN MBA candidate in Sustainability Management while doing consultancy works in project management and community building.

The session will be moderated by Pema Yangchen, Coordinator of YUNGA Japan.
