INTRODUCTION

A means of making a living is called livelihood. It refers to people, their capabilities, their assets (both material and social), their income and activities required for a means of living such as food access in a household. Development agents are required to have proven skills in livelihood assessments in order for them to be able to identify the most appropriate livelihood interventions. Good skills on how to analyse livelihoods intervention is equally important. This training programme introduces the concept of livelihoods and provides guidance on assessing and analyzing livelihoods. The course would also deliver skills on selecting and interpreting livelihoods indicators.
