INTRODUCTION

Agriculture is central to hunger and poverty eradication. Many countries have tried numerous strategies to improve production and consequent food security status. Although increased agricultural production is essential, it is not sufficient to reduce hunger and poverty. There is need for promoting the entire agricultural value chain through collaborative efforts among the stakeholders. This course is intended for various actors working with communities, governments, funding agencies, research organizations, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, among others for agriculture and rural development intervention programmes.
