Online Design Bootcamp

Art has always been an essential part of human self-expression. As humans evolved, so did different aspects of art. We have come far from the initial engravings and cave paintings that form historical resources. Like everything else, now art has also gone digital, leading to a new field and skill of graphic design.

Design dominates a considerable part of an individual's life. From the advertisements, we see to the cars we buy, design influences many decisions we make. Due to this, UI/UX continues to grow as an important field professionally. It is an exciting, creative, and growth-oriented field.

To encourage young individuals in this field, we present Girl Power Talk's Design Bootcamp in collaboration with Catalyst for Women Entrepreneurship (CWE), She fighter, Power To Her, Aatm Nirbhar Women's Association (ANWA), Amirah, CORO India, WEW 360 entrepreneurs and Rainbow On the Canvas. This will be an interactive, free of cost, virtual workshop specially curated with the objective for the young minds to unleash their creativity and develop a new skill in a safe space.

The workshop will take place over two days, each day dedicated to different software. The first part of the session will take place on 20 August 2021, Friday at 5:00 PM (IST). The second session will be on 22 August 2021, Sunday, at 5:00 PM (IST).

This is what the schedule of the workshop will look like:

Day 1: 20 August 2021, Friday

From branding to the basics of Canva, learn everything you need about creative designing from our talented design team at Girl Power Talk.

Learning Objectives:

• Get introduced to Canva - an essential application for any aspiring designer
• Master the concept of branding and how to get it right with the perfect branding kit.
• Learn how to create designs and logos for Instagram.
• Become adept in the formation of interactive illustrations.
• Have a newfound awareness of all possible careers in the field of designing.

Day 2: 22 August 2021, Sunday

Continuing with the enthusiasm and momentum from the previous day, it is time to dive into the world of UI/UX designing. We also seek to impart an understanding of the wonderful software Figma. The best part? No prior knowledge of the software is required!

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the growing importance of UI/UX Designing in the contemporary world.
• An introduction to the world of Figma from scratch.
• Receive a detailed tutorial on how to use the various tools in Figma.

We hope to fill these hours with a lot of fun and learning. At the end of the two-day sessions, all participants will be awarded certificates, and the best performers will also stand a chance to win cool prizes, cash awards, and even land an internship opportunity of a lifetime!
