Dear Industry member,
Greetings from ASSOCHAM !
As you may be aware, Millets are believed to be among the earliest domesticated plants, which have long served as traditional staple crops for millions of farmers. Millets form a relatively inexpensive source of nutrition especially to the underprivileged population of the world. The United Nations General Assembly declaring 2023 as the International Year of Millets and keeping in line with this to create the awareness on Millets in Southern States, ASSOCHAM is organizing Millet Festivals in multiple states.
The success of millet farming in Attappady has motivated other districts in Kerala such as Alappuzha. Last year, Cherthala South panchayat in the district, cultivated ragi (finger millet) on over 250 acres spread across 22 wards. It was perhaps the first time that a millet variety was grown on such a large scale in south Kerala. Millet farming also brings nutrition and financial security for women farmers in state. Millet farming is on an expansion mode in Kerala and to increase awareness and importance of Millet farming, ASSOCHAM Kerala State Development Council in collaboration with Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India is organising Millet Festival/Millet Ulsavam with Conference Theme on Strengthening the Millets Value Chain on 12 & 13 May 2023 at Gokulam Park Convention Centre, Kochi, Kerala.
The program will consist of a Conference, Millet Exhibition ,Buyer -Seller meetings and Food demo to encourage and bring about awareness in consumers on the various health benefits of consuming millets.
In the above context, ASSOCHAM takes pleasure in inviting your organisation to attend the conference and as an Exhibitor as well as register for the one-to-one buyer-seller meetings during our Millet Event. For any further information please feel free to contact Ms Nanditha on 9036461650 or [email protected] and for speaking opportunities or stalls, Tarina Basu on 9611226411 or [email protected] or [email protected]
Looking forward for your confirmation.
Thanking you & Warm Regards,
