Pianist Do-Hyun Kim is a young artist establishing himself with an incredible depth of artistry across a wide-ranging repertoire. After being presented with a special prize for best performance in the Semi Final round of the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition, Maestro Valery Gergiev personally invited him to perform in St. Petersburg. Winner of First Prize at the 2017 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, he was awarded the Korean Concert Society Prize for a Kennedy Center debut, the Michaels Award of Young Concert Artists for sponsorship of a New York debut during the 2019-20 season, the Embassy Series Prize for a concert in Washington, D.C., and the Tri-I Noon Recitals Prize at Rockefeller University. Mr. Kim has also received the Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize, John Browning Memorial Prize, Ronald Asherson Prize of YCA, and a Young Concert Artists Fellowship sponsored by the Paiko Foundation, in addition to numerous other early recognitions.

Mr. Kim’s appearances during the 2020-2021 season include re-engagements with the Greenville Symphony and the Jupiter Chamber Players in New York City. His 2019-20 season performances include the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 and Beethoven Fantasia for Piano, Chorus and Orchestra with the Albany (GA) Symphony, the Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1 with the Greenville Symphony, and an engagement with the Jupiter Chamber Players in New York City. In addition, he is currently artist in residence at the Judson Manor in Cleveland.

Previously, Kim performed in Russia’s famed Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg including recitals and Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Mariinsky Orchestra, as well as at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland and New York's Pianofest. As the winner of the Cleveland Institute of Music's Concerto Competition, he also performed with the Conservatory's Orchestra. Originally from Korea, Kim moved to the United States to earn his Bachelor’s degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, continued his studies with Sergei Babayan at The Juilliard School, earning a Master’s in 2019, and heads back to the Cleveland Institute this year to pursue an Artist Diploma.
