Recovery coaching as a peer-to-peer recovery support service has grown exponentially over the past few years. The issue of ethical considerations has been discussed in many circles yet formal training has been lacking for recovery coaches. CCAR's Recovery Coach Academy designed this training to help coaches, and anyone else working in the peer role, understand how critical it is to be ethically responsible.
Under the guidance of Mountainside's Recovery Coaches Zachary Cohn and Alex Lahr, you will be using a variety of techniques to practice using relevant scenarios coaches may face on a daily basis. Topics for the course will include: defining the coaching service role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision-making, performance enhancement, and legal issues.

This is a 16-hour course over two days:
There are 3 breaks during each training day: morning break, lunch break and afternoon break.
Cancellation policy:
Cancellation is required in writing at least 10 days prior to course start date. Cancellations within the 10-day period will receive a full credit that may be used for a future course. No-Show’s, those registered and confirmed participants who fail to show up, are responsible for full course fees as they are taking a seat of another participant. Once a course has begun, participants are responsible for full course fees, regardless of attendance.
