  • OVERVIEW

Employers of choice that have committed to building gender inclusive workplaces want to successfully consider the needs of their transgender and nonbinary workers. Yet, many struggle with how to measure their engagement, let alone the central question of how many are in the workplace. If you’re interested in learning more about the role you can play to ensure that your organization is accurately measuring and considering the needs of transgender and nonbinary employees, then this webinar is for you. There, you will have the opportunity to learn about who transgender and nonbinary workers are, the challenges they endure on the job, and how you can resolve them by leveraging cutting edge data collection methods. You will leave empowered with important information allowing you to attact the best and brightest talent over the coming years. The topics discussed work particularly well with participants ready to enrich their knowledge, skills and confidence on how to improve workplace experiences for underrepresented and marginalized workers.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Clarify what sex, gender identity, binary and nonbinary mean
  • Understand why accurate collection of gender identity improves employee engagement
  • Highlight how these data will help a workplace prepare for the future of work
  • Share strategies on what to do before, during, and after asking demographic questions
  • Identify one immediate action participants can take after this session

  • WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND

Most HR systems still collect gender in a binary fashion, listing employees as either women or men. Yet, we know that a growing number of younger professionals entering the workplace – as many as 30% - identify as a gender beyond the binary. Outdated methods of collecting gender in the workplace erase the experiences and needs of transgender and nonbinary workers. We know that when organizations commit to building gender inclusive organizations, they need data to measure their progress, and yet very few employers know how to accurately measure these employees. Fortunately, demographic questions on how to ask gender identity and gender expression are now being used on federal and state population-based surveys. This session will help HR professionals adapt these data collection methods for their own organizations, and by doing so, they will be better positioned to compete for the next generation of talent.
