The International Emergency Department Leadership Institute (IEDLI) provides leadership training for emergency department (ED) physicians, nurses, and administrators. Our engaging program includes interactive workshops, seminars, and collaborative group activities, all aimed at exploring the most pressing ED challenges, such as staffing, overcrowding, triage, risk management, and cost control. The program draws participants from across the globe, with expert faculty members hailing from renowned institutions such as Harvard Medical School.

IEDLI is sponsored by Brigham and Women's Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital.

Courses

IEDLI offers four in-person courses held over a seven-day period, each including networking and social events such as the Wednesday night gala dinner.

• Leadership Essentials (4-8 Nov) - Five-day course covering critical challenges in running an ED and essential skills you need to be an ED leader. If you are new to IEDLI, start here!
• CEDE Certification (4-6 Nov) - Three-day course for Leadership Essentials alumni. Participants work in groups to develop and formally present a solution to a real-world ED scenario to a mock-board.
• Continuing Executive Education (7-8 Nov) - Two-day course for participants to discuss cutting-edge topics in ED leadership, with topics changing every year.
• Emergency Department Design (9-10 Nov) - Two-day course covering all components of designing an efficient, well-run ED, with participants working in groups to design their own ED. Save $150 on ED Design when you also sign up for Leadership Essentials!
