'MOCK THE WEEK' STARS LAUNCH NEW COMEDY NIGHT IN WALTHAMSTOW.
Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at various venues all over the country, is excited to announce the launch of their brand new monthly comedy night at Mirth, Marvel and Maud, Walthamstow on Wednesday September 11th.
Funhouse Comedy Clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to fame and fortune include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world."
Topping the bill is Ivo Graham a 'So You Think You're Funny' previous winner, who has appeared on both 'Live at The Apollo' and 'Mock The Week'. An articulate Eton graduate with a natural gift for telling stories, his perceptive material is both fascinating and entertaining, leaving his audiences wishing for.
Opening the night will be Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Glenn Moore, who has appeared on BBC TV's 'Mock the Week'. One of the best and most prolific joke writers in the country, having written for BBC's The Mash Report, Play To The Whistle, and Russell Howard's Good News. With his silly turn of phrase and smart little one-liners, he keeps everyone hanging on to his every word.
Also appearing will be the self-deprecating Dave Bibby with his upbeat musical offerings and CarrieAnne The RedNeck, an all American girl from the US state of North Carolina, who left her job as a deputy sheriff and bought a one way ticket to the United Kingdom where she started her comedy career.
Compere for the night is the quirky James Dowdeswell who has appeared on such TV shows as 'Russell Howard's Good News', 'Celebrity Deal Or No Deal' and who also played The Count in Ricky Gervais' 'Extras'.
