Course Description
This course provides participants with the requisite analysis and design skills – as business and/or systems analyst – by equipping them with innovative problem-solving tools and techniques in order to identify, understand and correctly respond to imminent business challenges. Participants will gain a better knowledge of the basic concepts of systems development lifecycle methodologies, including the V model and modelling techniques, that are applied to structured analysis. Participants will also gain invaluable insights to applications of object-orientated analysis (UML modelling), such as data flow diagrams, use cases, entity relationship diagrams and class models.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:
• Understand the basic concepts of IS development lifecycles and methodologies
• Apply structured analysis modelling techniques to draw functional Decomposition, context and data flow diagrams
• Draw UML models such as use cases and class diagrams, and
• Draw data models such as entity relationship diagrams (ERDs).
