Creativity is one of the most valuable character traits in human beings. For as long as we can remember, creatives have been trying to “reinvent the wheel,” and introduce novel innovations in various fields of business, science, technology, and more. The term “Disruptive Technology” was coined in 1995 by Clayton Christensen in a Harvard Business Review Article. He defined disruptive technology as innovations that reshape the respective landscape of thought and introduces novel effective methods that are adapted in place of established, older methods and market segments.
It is human nature to seek innovation and efficient adaptation. Ever since the dawn of man, we’ve been fashioning new tools from our environment to better suit our needs. This has been a consistent trend in human evolution throughout the ages, now more so than ever with the advent of computational technology, and the interconnectedness it brings forth. The whole world has become connected, concepts and ideas are shared at a glance, and perspectives have become broader than ever in an increasingly global society. This has allowed for a renaissance of ideas and innovations in a multitude of fields, with creative individuals spearheading disruptive technologies that aim to elevate humanity and its relationship with technology.
