TOPIC: Artefact Creative Lead on Systems Thinking Meets Product.

When designers focus too much on users, we become susceptible to having a narrow point of view. When tackling complex design problems, the user is just a single player in a series of causal and correlating events. How do you go beyond human-centered design to approach systemic problems? Artefact Creative Lead Sheryl Cababa discusses how systems thinking helps designers analyze complex problems - including the societal impact of social media.

About The Speaker: Sheryl Cababa is an Executive Creative Director at Artefact - bringing more than 20 years of experience in product design and consultancy. She has experience working with companies such as Microsoft, Philips, and IKEA, leading projects across industries from retail to robotic surgery systems. In addition, she has delivered presentations and workshops at conferences including Better World by Design, Seattle Interactive, and World Usability Day. Sheryl is a graduate of Syracuse University and currently lives in Seattle.
