York Unlocked 2023 - weekend event unlocking York's normally closed buildings

Join us for our second ever York Unlocked weekend. We're throwing open the doors to around 70 fabulous York buildings for FREE on 7 and 8 October 2023. Experience familiar places through fresh eyes and uncover hidden treasures.

The event aims to showcase buildings and open spaces of merit in York and follows a hugely successful first year in 2022. We'll have a range of buildings new and old to explore and discover. New buildings for 2023 include Bishopthorpe Palace, the Archbishop's Walled and Pleasure Garden, St Peters School, the Star in the City and a special 'Architecture of the Ouse' cruise. PLUS, many favourites from last year.

York Unlocked is a registered charity run by volunteers. The event is suitable for everyone – from history and architecture lovers to families and schools.
