The Worcester Youth Orchestras welcome all interested students (Grades 12 and under) to audition for our 2021-2022 Season (Sept 2021 to May 2022), Admission is open to all instruments in orchestra, jazz, band and chamber music.
For the upcoming 2021 - 2022 season, WYO will hold in-person rehearsals in accordance with all state and local guidelines regarding Covid-19. Please note, as of August 2021, that masking will be required regardless of vaccination status for all students. This is subject to change as the Covid-19 evolves and upon recommendations from our Covid-19 Health Advisors. The safety and health of our students and staff is paramount. We encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions about our Covid-19 protocols.
Our Fall 2021 Auditions will take place completely online via our website using submitted videos. If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please contact us regarding your video. WYO serves more than 200 students from across Central Massachusetts, Northern Connecticut and Rhode Island with 4 orchestras, a wind ensemble, jazz program and chamber music. In-Residence at Mechanics Hall, the organization presents a number of concerts at this magnificent concert hall as well as around Worcester County. The orchestras have performed for Governor Baker at the State House during his 2019 Inauguration, been conducted by Red Sox Legend and Worcester Native, Rich Gedman and in recent years toured the Czech Republic.
All interested students should submit an online audition form and video, please consult our website for more information . We look forward to meeting you and becoming a part of your musical journey! Audition applications are accepted between April 2md and May 10th, we encourage students to submit their applications as soon as possible.

WYO's Commitment to Safety Last Season
WYO successfully held in-person rehearsals from late August 2020 through June 2021 following strict Covid-19 safety protocols including health screening, mandatory masking, social distancing and woodwind/brass bell covers. Rehearsals were held indoors and outdoors with no cases of transmission. WYO complied with all public gathering limits set by state. In addition, WYO was able to hold maintain a concert schedule with performances throughout there, all in-person.
