Missouri Humanities will lift up the people/places/ideas that contribute to Missouri communities and placemaking through a keynote lecture by Jane Smiley, a Pulitzer-Prize winning author. As a native St. Louisan, Smiley published a piece in the New York Times titled: “What St. Louis Tells Us About America”. Her MOmentum gala address will discuss the article and help us think about what our respective communities tell us about America. Smiley’s remarks will be preceded by a musical performance by Little Dylan from the National Blues Museum and a performance by Native dancers.
