Join the Newcomb Art Museum for a free artist talk on October 2 at 6 pm, as artist, activist, and MacArthur Genius Awardee LaToya Ruby Frazier shares how she uses photography for social change.
Join the Newcomb Art Museum in Freeman Auditorium on Wednesday, October 2 at 6 pm for a unique chance to hear from artist, activist, and MacArthur Genius Awardee LaToya Ruby Frazier as she presents "Art as Transformation: Using Photography for Social Change." Free and open to the public, Frazier will discuss how she uses photography to fight injustice-poverty, healthcare, and gender inequality, environmental contamination, racism, and more-and create a more representative self-portrait. The museum will remain open till 8 pm and host a free reception following the talk, giving everyone the opportunity to interact with the artist and explore her exhibition "Flint is Family," currently on view at the Newcomb Art Museum.
