Directed by Jonathan Allentoff, Brockport Symphony Orchestra's "10th Annual Holiday Pops Concert" at The Clover Center will feature vocal soloists Lisa Waltzer and Michael DeLuca, Brockport Symphony alumni, and Westside Brass. Admission and parking are free, and donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.
Waltzer, who has appeared at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York City and venues in the Greater Rochester area, will perform "Let It Snow", "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", and "Rock of Ages." She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The University at Buffalo and is currently pursuing graduate studies at The College at Brockport. DeLuca, who has appeared on stage across Western New York, will perform "We Need a Little Christmas", "Silver and Gold", and "It Comes Around the Same Time Each Year." He studied vocal performance with Heinz Rehfuss while attending The University at Buffalo and maintains an active performance schedule in Rochester. The concert finale will feature Waltzer and DeLuca singing "Count Your Blessings" and "Silver Bells" in new duet arrangements by Allentoff.
In celebration of the orchestra's tenth season, Brockport Symphony alumni from across New York State will be traveling to Rochester to perform with the orchestra for this special concert. The program also includes selections from "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", "Joyful Holidays" arranged by Jack Bullock, and "The Trees of Christmas" by Glenn Heinlen. Westside Brass will present new arrangements of traditional Christmas carols.
There will be a complimentary dessert reception following the performance. This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M.
