Stand-up Comedy for Daybreak

A pop-up stand-up comedy club raising funds for local dementia charity Daybreak with four pro stand-up comedians. Organised with The Midcounties Co-operative.

Four professional comedians provide the entertainment. Headlining the gig is Patrick Monahan who was winner of ITV's Show Me The Funny in 2011. This half-Iranian, half-Middlesborough comic is a rising star on the comedy circuit. Full of an insatiable lust for life, his exuberant comedy greets the audience exuding charisma from the stage (and often off it, when he scuttles into the crowd!) Patrick was cited as being the UK's hardest working comedian in an article in The Independent as he visited 104 different UK venues in one year. The Sunday Times described him as being, "High energy and conviction, his material is great; he's going to go far."

Patrick will be supported by Earl Okin, Marti and whacky magician Wayne the Weird.

Earl Okin is quite simply a 'Musical Genius & Sex Symbol' also the name of his CD. As with everything else he does, Earl Okin's comedy is unique! "UNMISSABLE! He's a joy! He is a classic! He is a must!"

Marti mocks British local customs, language and habits. Naïve observational content with some wordplay and storytelling gives his act its broad and entertaining appeal. 'Hilarious naivety.' Arthur Smith (BBC, The Guardian).

Wayne The Weird performs a mix of stand-up comedy interspersed with mind boggling magic tricks and the odd dash of crass stupidity. "No-one in the audience will be able to ever look at rubber gloves and white rabbits in the same way again." Creative Cows Comedy.

Tickets for the event are just £15 and are available here (there's no booking fee !)

There will be a licensed bar and refreshments available throughout the evening.

The doors and bar are open from 7:00pm with the comedy starting at 7:45pm.

The Co-op will donate all of the profits from the evening to local charity Daybreak which runs three day centres in Oxfordshire providing care and support to help people live well with dementia.
