Day 1. Reporting at Naggar

Arrive Naggar, complete your documentation, shop any stuff left relating cycle ride, short briefing would be given about cycling and upcoming rides. Relax for some time, have lunch and in the afternoon a short ride to ancient village Rumsu.

Day 1.    Afternoon ride from Naggar to Rumsu (5 km.-6 km.)

Today a short ride will be done to Rumsu village. Rumsu is 5-6 km. far from the village Naggar. The road is rough till the last village and the ride is gradient. Initially the route is on tarmac but soon surface turns into an off road. As riding towards Rumsu village we pass some of the prominent locations of Naggar, such as Naggar Castle, Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery and some of the ancient temples. After forwarding from the art gallery trail looks amazing amidst the wild trees which goes all the way up. So breathe easy and pedal. Soon the path becomes uphill for a while then few turns it changes into moderate road. En route tiny village Sharan can be seen which is situated alongside the road. Further the road is almost moderate till Rumsu and is not that challenging at all. Ride to Rumsu is full with compelling surroundings and soothing atmosphere.  It might be a good warm up ride for the upcoming longer rides. Since riding some km’s high the mountains beyond look greater, the valley looks broader with river Beas flowing serenely. After passing some of the apple orchards the village comes to show. The riders will be taken to pay a visit at the ancient temple of Jamdagni Rishi, the ancient rural village of Rumsu and to the traditional Himachali style houses. We visit the village and ride all the way back to Naggar. Therefore cycling back is total downhill, it can be exciting but precaution is necessary as any casualty can happen. So ride carefully and control the speed. Approach nagger by the evening, halt in the camps/hotel and relax.

Day 2. Ride Naggar to Manali (20 km.-20 km.)

Riding cycle towards Manali is a perfect day ride with lots of beautiful sites on the way. Manali is about 20 km. far from Naggar. So an early start is recommended. Starting from Naggar the road is nice and fine till Manali.  Going forward from Naggar many to tiny villages, small towns, rice fields, apple orchards, local houses hotels and restaurants will show up all the way untill manali. The road is moderate as pedaling constantly one might reach in 2hours. As we get closer to the Manali, the road gets a bit jammed up but no worries for your cycle. Once approached at Manali, one can visit the Mall road, situated in the middle of Manali. Following the mall road one can visit the Bhuddhist Monestary too. Pay another visit to an ancient temple of Hadimba at Dhunghri. It is just few km’s far and can be approached by your bike easily. Then visit to old Manali, which is the ancient village of Manali. One can buy the local handicrafts taste local and multiple cuisines in here. The lunch will be personal. After all the visits and lunch we ride back to Naggar taking same route. If anyone gets tired of cycling he/ she can ride back in the back up vehicle. Reach Naggar by the evening. Rest at Camp/Hotel at Naggar.

Day 3. Naggar to Jana (15 km.-15 km.)

Now this day’s ride is something that will thrill you up. The landscapes, forests, high hills and low valleys will take your heart away. So commencing early from Naggar, the route is a moderate ride with few ups and downs until Nashala village. Nashala is a picturesque landscape village with forests on the mountain side and the paddy fields below. From this point ahead the road gets a slight uphill and continues for some time. Then it becomes moderate, but later it is ultimately steep. As the riders hike up through the forest, the landscape opens up to the broad valley vista that offers spectacular views in front. Riding up in this beautiful landscape brings back the adrenalin and joy to the riders. Jana village is at a decent height, so one has to ride with strong will and stamina. After hours of riding cycle the road gets gentler and the village houses are visible. There are many things to do at Jana. One can visit the ancient houses, structures belonging to the deity, visit waterfall, eat traditional local food, rapelling, zipline etc. Visit the village places and taste local cuisine as time allows. The lunch will be personal. Have your lunch, then return back to Naggar via same route. As we had cycled a lot gradient up, now it is turned into a great downhill. At some places the slopes are too steep that bike would go much faster as expected. So riding at controlled speed on the downhill is compulsory. Riding down didn’t need any effort but the control and one would feel cold during the ride so wear your warm cloths. Riding back won’t take so long to reach Naggar. Riders should reach Naggar in the afternoon by 4pm. The ultimate ride will end at Naggar, from here the riders are free to go to their preferred destinations.
