About the ISSF-2021

The ISSF (International Symposium on a Sustainable Future) is a Flagship Event of the NEEF and ISCLA focusing on Innovative Research and Action in Sustainable Energy, Environment and Development (SEED). The ISSF-2021, consisting of an International Conference, an Exhibition and a Training Program, will be organized in Mumbai during January 11-13, 2021. It is aimed at providing a common platform for academicians, researchers, corporate executives, government officers, policymakers and other stakeholders to exchange viewpoints and find innovative solutions for the SEED. 

The issues of Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development are of critical importance, particularly, in developing economies. Energy needs of development, throughout the world, are facing an unprecedented challenge. Rising socio-economic and environmental concerns of energy use have resulted in the search for new and renewable energy forms such as biomass energy, solar energy, wind energy, etc. The burgeoning environmental problems, both at local and global levels, are posing a serious threat to the mankind and urgent measures are needed to tackle them. Paradigm shift from GDP-oriented growth to the overall welfare of society is the need of the hour for a sustainable future, which is the focus of the ISSF-2021.

Sub Themes:

• Problems of Local Ecosystems and Pollution of Air, Water, and Solid Waste and their possible solutions.
• Issues of Global Importance with particular focus on Greenhouse Gas Emissions and resulting  Global Warming and other Climate Changes and their  Impacts;
• Socio-Economic Dimension of Energy and Environment; Natural Resource Accounting; Trade and Environment Linkages;
• Role of various stake holders in SEED including Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility;
• Challenges of and Possible Solutions for Pollution Prevention and Control including economic and technological measures; and,
• Sustainable Production and Consumption and Tools for Assessment of Sustainability including the LCA.
