Women have always stood by gay, bi, and trans men and have been at the forefront of the LGBTQ2+ civil rights movement from the beginning.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T is The Vancouver Men's Chorus tribute to the music of the strong women who have fought for women's and queer people's rights to be ourselves, without fear or apology.
We are delighted to be returning to Performance Works on Granville Island, the first time since 2019.
Our long time summer home, Performance Works provides an intimate, banquet-style environment where our audience feels like they are part of the chorus.
With elaborate costume changes, mesmerising choreography, and the return of our signature VMC cocktail, this is a performance that will have you up and on your feet, cheering for more.
Join us as we dive into the discographies of the most extraordinary musical women, from pop princesses to rock goddesses, from Broadway divas to RandB stars, and, of course, the Queen of Soul herself: Aretha Franklin.
Whether you've been attending our shows for years or you're checking us out for the first time, we cannot wait to welcome you back to our celebrated summer concerts and to kick off your Summer of 2022 in true VMC style! Concert details at: www.vancouvermenschorus.ca/respect
The Vancouver Men's Chorus is Canada's first gay chorus and one of Canada's premier singing ensembles.
For more than 41 years, we've delighted audiences locally and abroad. At the core of the Chorus' achievements stands its contribution to the creation of new repertoire for men's and mixed voices.
