The hikes are designed to take inform and create awareness about local history & surroundings. Hikes are approximately 2 miles and last approximately 90 minutes. Please see details for each individual hike.
Black History Hike

Meet at MLK Center, 401 S. 8th Street
Hike Leader: Imam Abdul Rahman Shareef
The hike will start at the MLK Center and hikers will visit the Gregory Congregational Church to learn about the Wilmington Ten. Urban Hikers will also learn about historical sites such as Gregory High, Robert Strange Park and Williston School.

This Urban Hike will venture through the history lesson of 1898 to learn about the only government overthrow in US, the Wilmington coup of 1898, which occurred Thursday, November 18, 1898.
