ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
It all started thirty years back in 1979 as a Matriculation School located in Eachanari, Coimbatore. Right from its inception, giving the best in all forms is its only motive. After making a healthy run in the industry for more than 20 years, Rathinam Group has expanded. Now it is called as the Rathinam Techzone – a 70 acre technological campus with various educational institutions teaching right from Pre-KG to Ph.D and IT Parks including Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The institutions with Rathinam Group are Rathinam College of Arts and Science, Rathinam Technical Campus, Rathinam Institute of Management, Rathinam International Public School and Rathinam Modern Matriculation Hr. Sec. School.
Rathinam College of Arts and Science is a Co-educational Institution was established in year 2001 by the KPM educational Trust, which has 35 years of experience in promoting education in Coimbatore. It offers 14 Under Graduate Courses and 5 Post Graduate Courses and research programs. The institution has registered with ICTACT, CSI, CII, YI and NSDC. The advantages that it offers to the students are indeed enormous with Project & in-house training and part-time job at the IT Park and SEZ within the campus. Access to professionals, real time experience and better institutional industry interaction is facilitated by its proximity of the SEZ.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department was started in 2001 and it has grown excellently in academic and research work. At present, the department offers four undergraduate degree and two postgraduate degree programmes and Research Programme M.Phil and Ph.D. In undergraduate Programmes Computer science, Computer Applications, Information Technology and Computer Technology are offered. Under the postgraduate, Computer Science and Information Technology are offered. Department offers an outstanding opportunity for budding professional to polish their skills and outperform their competitors. The department is equipped with state of the art computing and internet facilities (10 Mbps). The department has well experienced faculty members with excellent knowledge in IT. More than 70% of the students have been placed in reputed in IT companies through placement cell.
