Tribute to Karen Carpenter by THE LOMPOC POPS ORCHESTRA

Celebrating sounds of the 1960's and 1970's, THE LOMPOC POPS ORCHESTRA intends to bring the house down with an afternoon of terrific favorites from "The Beach Boys," "The Beetles" and more. But the icing on the cake will be vocalist Wendy Laurier, singing a variety of Karen Carpenter well-known hits such as "Rainy Days and Mondays," "We've Only Just Begun," "For All We Know," "Top of the World," "They Long To Be" and several others.

Wendy is flying in from her native Canada just for this Pops performance. She's an International award-winning singer who specializes in renditions made famous by Karen Carpenter and Linda Ronstadt. It is anticipated this will be a sell-out concert so patrons and guests are encouraged to arrive a little on the early side. Doors open around 3:20 p.m. following the orchestra's final rehearsal. Ticket prices remain at $25 for general admission while full-time students are admitted (with student I.D. shown at the door) for $5.00. Active duty are also admitted for $5.00 and children 12 and under are welcomed free of charge.
