Opera Loki delivery a raw and unflinching version of Puccini's timeless opera 'Tosca'
The artistic director is Jane Gray with Aleks Myslek providing musical direction
Gray's production is set in the 1920's in the shadow of Mussolini's tyrannical rule.
It tells the story of a passionate and ill fated love, played out against a backdrop of
political corruption and intrigue.
Kirsty Stokes is in the title role. She is described
by Opera Now as having 'a really classy full-bodied voice ... who sings
with spine-tinglingly delicate beauty'
She has performed 3 seasons at
Glyndebourne and most recently toured with Surrey Opera playing
Donna Anna in a steampunk version of Don Giovanni
Cavradossi is sung by Phil Clieve
After completed his Masters degree at the RNCM in Manchester
he has worked extensively with Buxton Festival and
Grange Park opera. He has an extensive concert portfolio
and has recently completed training with the National Opera Studio
as an associate artist.
Newcomer Geoff Clapham plays the evil Scarpia.
He started his career as a chorister at Westminster and
went on to read music at Cambridge.
He is currently in his final year of opera study at the
Guildhall school of music and drama
