Thanksgiving Wood Kiln Opening at Bolick and Traditions Pottery

Bolick Pottery is celebrating 50 years of business this year. Glenn and Lula Bolick are still producing functional pottery near Blowing Rock, NC. Daughter and Son-in-law, Janet and Michael Calhoun of Traditions Pottery have a workshop just across the creek from the Bolicks. Bolick Pottery is open daily 10-5 and Sunday 1-5. Bolick and Traditions Pottery located at 1155 Main Street Blowing Rock is also open daily. The shop in Blowing Rock features Bolick, Traditions, and Original Owens Pottery. They hold two wood kiln openings each year. One on the last Saturday of June and one on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Come see how where the pottery is made and don't miss the clay pit, clay grinding machines, wood kiln, and of course, lots of functional, decorative and folkart pottery.
