Summer Internship Workshop on Essentials of Mechanical Engineering

The programme, Essentials of Mechanical Engineering is a 10 day summer internship programme organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SSN College of Engineering, jointly with Barola Group (a recognized firm for training students in the building of UAV's and applications using Embedded systems)

Objective:
The objective of this internship programme is to introduce students of Mechanical Engineering background the necessary fundamentals in core topics and provide a platform for practical learning in key areas covering NC machines, Energy and IC Engines.

Hands on Sessions:
Hands on experience shall be given to each and every student on the above three areas mentioned besides covering the theory. It is made mandatory in our programme that no student participant leaves without learning the importance of Energy and Environment as these are the widely addressed topics of the day in industrial/domestic sectors. Hands on sessions are planned in the areas on Energy specifically to emphasize the above fact.

Project Assignments:
The student participants during the ten day period are given an opportunity to involve in group project assignments and presentations exhibiting their technical skills.

 

Soft Skill Training:
Due importance is given to soft skills and few sessions have been allotted to involve students in activity based learning to hone their intrapersonal skills as well.

Placement Guidance:
Considering the need of the day, it has been planned to dedicate few sessions for placement guidance. Focus shall be on Tips for successful placements for the participants.

On the spot Assessments & Rewards:
It has been made mandatory that every technical lecture session concludes with an "on the spot assessment" with on the spot rewards for best performers.
The workshop is designed to conclude with special tips for successful placement and project report submission/presentation on the projects assigned. Awards shall be given to Best Three Projects and Free Internships to be awarded for best performers in training sessions.The organizers wish the programme to be highly systematic addressing to the point. Hence, all the participants are requested to consider the programme with utmost seriousness offering their full support. Participants are encouraged to bring their Laptops for deriving the best out of this internship.

Who can Attend?
Students of Mechanical Engineering essentially Third and Final Years.

Date of Programme :
The Program is scheduled on June 20 - 29, 2016.

Agenda of the Programme :
Complete agenda shall be dispatched to participants at the time of reporting to our programme at SSN Campus.

Number of Participants :
Restricted to 200 - 220 students only on first come first served basis. Beyond this limit, 30 extra registrations can be taken up by the organizers considering them as wait listed candidates. Registration for the wait list can be confirmed based on availability only. If registration is not confirmed, the registration amount after deducting Rs. 375/- shall be returned either by NEFT or in person to the respective participants.

Registration Fee:
Individual Rs.12,500/- per participant excluding accommodation (single or group with members less than 4)

Group :
Rs. 11,500/- excluding accommodation (for group with members more than or equal to 4).

Accommodation:

Accommodation is given to 100 - 150 members in our hostel subject to availability, at a nominal cost of Rs. 200/- per participant per day including breakfast, lunch and dinner. As an example, the cost works out to be Rs. 2000/- for ten days per participant excluding the registration fee. The participants can decide the number of days they need accommodation as per their choice. Accommodation shall be given on first come fist served basis only. All participants should bring their college ID card.
