SOSARL Crate Escape: Journey to Rescue Virtual Challenge

Each year Save One Soul Animal Rescue League hosts an in-person 5K event to raise funds for animal rescue. This year we are taking our event virtual! Our "race" is a virtual mileage accumulation challenge and there are five virtual routes you can choose from; each leg of the virtual event is the journey our dogs travel from one of our southern organization partners to the SOS headquarters in Rhode Island.

Since we are all about the dogs (and NOT professional athletes!), we divided the total miles by seven, to make the mileage per leg Virtual Dog Miles. The challenge spans 62 days, and participants can accrue miles on their own or in teams by walking, running, biking, swimming, jogging, indoor or outdoor, crawling - whatever they need to do to get 'er done!  Once the race is finished, race participants will receive a fun custom medal (see below) representing the challenge(s) you completed in the mail!

All proceeds and fundraising from this event directly impact the number of dogs we can match with their furever homes! As we ensure all our pups are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines, monthly heart worm and flea and tick preventatives, and are spayed/neutered before traveling to New England; you can imagine there’s a hefty cost behind all of that.
