7 in 10 Americans use social media to connect with each other, engage with news content, share information and entertain themselves. Social media expert Richard Pelzer ("Uncle Richard") returns to Staten Island for a two-part workshop that will help artists increase visibility, engagement, and impact through social media.

Participants are asked to bring metrics on social media with them. Participants are not required to attend both parts but it is highly recommended. For convenience, each part is offered twice.

Part 1: "The Facts, Jack"
Choose one: Friday Oct. 4 (10am-1pm) RSVP OR Thursday Oct. 17 (7-10pm) RSVP.
Introduction to digital terminology, the dominant social media platforms and trends regarding using each of them. Helpful tips will be offered about the ins and outs of scheduling through an editorial calendar, creating engagement, and boosting visibility.

Part 2: "Creating the Campaign"
Choose one: Friday Nov. 1 (10am to 1pm) RSVP OR Tuesday Nov. 12 (7-10pm) RSVP.
This session will also cover creating the narrative of impact and will include examples of digital platforms run by a variety of arts organizations.
