We are delighted to announce Ben Fogle as guest speaker at the 11th Sir Edmund Hillary Memorial Lecture at the Royal Geographic Society in London on Thursday 9th May. Ben is a modern day journeyman and broadcaster who regularly appears on television and who will be talking about some of his many achievements, which include climbing Mount Everest, rowing the Atlantic ocean and crossing Antarctica.
Sir Edmund Hillary, along with Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, was the first man to stand on the summit of Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain. He founded the first Himalayan Trust in 1960 and subsequently set up the UK arm in 1989. All proceeds of the Lecture will go to the Himalayan Trust UK which funds health and education projects in the mountainous regions of Nepal (for more details and to buy tickets please visit himalayantrust.co.uk).
