By Safe Haven Cheatham County, a 501c3., is committed to meeting the immediate needs of domestic violence victims and their children in Tennessee, to provide a safe environment for the victims while in our care and help them to build better productive lives while offering the support, education and services they need to accomplish this goal. Shine the Light is their single annual fundraiser. "A SAFE PLACE IN THE STORMS OF LIFE."

Domestic Violence in Tennessee Recent figures show there were more than 69,000 domestic violence incidents reported in Tennessee in 2020. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Domestic Violence Report for 2020 also shows that domestic violence accounted for 90 murders in the state. Quick Facts: A total of 69,385 offenses were flagged as domestic related in 2020. Of the 69,385 domestic related offenses reported in 2020, 45,854 of them were reported as Simple Assault. The overall number of domestic related offenses decreased by 2.6% from 2019 to 2020. Females were three times more likely to be victimized than males; accounting for 71.5% of all domestic violence victims. Males accounted for the other 28.4%. Juveniles made up 9.7% of the reported victim types in 2020, with Simple Assault being the most reported offense made against juveniles. Data on victim to offender relationship types revealed that Boyfriend/Girlfriend was the most frequently reported relationship type for domestic abuse. Domestic violence resulted in 90 Murder victims in 2020. The most common weapon reported with domestic violence offenses was Personal Weapons (hands, feet, teeth, etc.) at 42,501. The most frequently reported Injury Types was None at 50.3% followed by Apparent Minor Injuries at 45.7%. 57.7% of domestic violence incidents were Cleared in 2020. Karyn Rochelle Karyn Rochelle is an award winning American country music singer and songwriter. Her credits include several hit singles by major country music artists, including "I Wonder", "Red High Heels'', "Makin' Me Fall in Love Again" and "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" for Kellie Pickler, "From A Table Away" by Sunny Sweeney, as well as "Georgia Rain" and "This Is Me You're Talking To" for Trisha Yearwood. "Georgia Rain" also earned Rochelle the coveted BMI award. Karyn has had songs recorded by Sara Evans, Reba McEntire, LeeAnn Womack, LeeAnn Rimes, Terri Clark and even the legendary George Jones. Karyn has recorded two albums of her own, self-titled album "Karyn Rochelle" and her most recent "Pretty Mess. Karyn tours with Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks
