On Sunday, July 25, 2021, the Runaways Animal Rescue and Flow Yoga/Pilates and Personal Training will co-host an event to honor the memory of Bella, its longtime feline mascot, and raise money to support a new 7100-square feet shelter for homeless animals in West Pasco County. The shelter is the former site of Family Impact Ministries. The event, open to the public by donation, begins at 9 am at the Flow Yoga Studio, 7711 Grand Boulevard, Port Richey, FL 34668. The schedule is as follows:

Yoga for All—9 to 10 am. Donations go to the Runaways Animal Rescue.

Bella Dedication and Memorial—10:15-10:30 am

Runaways Animal Rescue Meet and Greet, Questions and Answers about the new shelter—10:30-11 am

A portion of any sales made that day at Flow (yoga mats, accessories, attire, Bella 2022 calendar) will be donated to the Runaways.

Since 2006, Flow Yoga has been the Place for Mindful Movement in Port Richey. 2006, Flow Yoga has been the Place for Mindful Movement in Port Richey. From 2007 to April of this year, the studio owner, Faith Bevan, and its patrons cared for a savvy, social, feral cat, Bella, who became its mascot. During that time, Bella inspired the rescue, homing, veterinary care, and spay/neuter/vaccination of other feral and stray cats who came looking for help at Flow. Now stray and homeless animals in the neighborhood will find shelter and services at the newly opened, nearby Runaways Animal Rescue Shelter, 8020 Washington Street, Port Richey 34668. The new shelter can accommodate 20 dogs and 50-60 cats.

The Runaways Animal Rescue, a 501©3 formed in 2020 by Dani Giroux, has saved the lives of more than 400 animals. Its mission is to protect and advocate for all companion animals in need through rescue, adoption, and spay/neuter/vaccinate services. It also aims to build a humane community that promotes compassion by controlling animal overpopulation through TNVR (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return), community outreach, education, and partnerships with like-minded business/organizations.

Dani Giroux has more than ten years of experience caring for animals at various municipal shelters and humane organizations. Her motto for the Runaways is "Big or Small, We Save Them All." Flow Yoga owner Faith Bevan, a licensed Physician Assistant, volunteers at the CARES Claude Pepper Senior Center in New Port Richey. She says, "Yoga is not just about breathing, moving and meditation, but it is also about understanding our connection to one another, our community." These two women have already made outstanding contributions to the quality of life in West Pasco County. They share a common commitment to healing and helping those in need, whether two or four-legged.
