Secular Salon: Sam Green: The story of Britain's first openly gay councillor

Professor Richard Huzzey, Professor of Modern History at Durham University, will be giving a talk on Sam Green, the country's first openly gay county councillor.
Sam Green was a trailblazing figure whose election and public service marked a significant moment in local and LGBTQ+ history. This promises to be a fascinating and timely talk, shedding light on an often-overlooked chapter of North East history and is of particular interest in the current political climate.
