Moritz of Hesse-Kassel was the first patron of Heinrich Schutz, financing the
composer's first trip to Venice, where he studied with Giovanni Gabrieli. We
will perform selections from Schutz's Italian Madrigals and settings by the
dedicatee of that collection, Duke Moritz himself. Modern "madrigals" by
contemporary women composers complete this program and our season.
Tickets are donation at the door.
Concert will also be livesteamed on our youtube site.
