SCYC Juniors Try Sailing Day

Ever dream of sailing around the world or winning The America's Cup? Wishing you could chill and connect with nature out on the water? Or maybe you're looking for good times while building camaraderie with your crew?

Join Santa Cruz Yacht Club Juniors for a fun and informative afternoon of sailing, friends, and food. You'll learn about the SCYC Juniors programs and have a chance to go on a short sail with some of our experienced sailors.

Who should join: All water-confident, sailing-curious juniors and current Junior Members. Attendees will be grouped with the program relevant to their age/grade level.

Small boat (Optimist dinghy): 8-12 years old
FJ (two-person sailboat) and Scholastic sailing: 8th-12th graders

What we provide: Food, boats, safety equipment, and experienced guides.

What you bring: Clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet (no flip flops), sun screen and a hat. If you already have and prefer your own life vest (PFD) and helmet, feel free to bring those with you too.

This event is FREE to join. Please register in advance so we can plan resources to ensure everyone enjoys the day.
