In celebration of Glow: Discover the Art of Light we invite you into gleaming worlds of cinematic light and color. A selection of animated and abstract short films shimmer in the theater's darkness to conjure luminous worlds, both kinetic and contemplative.

Dawning by Elon Goliger Mallimson (2021, 30 sec.)
A time-lapse capture of a winter sunrise over the San Francisco Bay, with nimbus clouds transitioning through varied hues into welcomed striking luminosity.

Light Year by Paul Clipson (2013, 10 min.)
This unique cinematic portrait of San Francisco filmed along the edge of the Bay captures both natural and industrial landscapes. The filmmaker crafts beauty from puddles, light poles, old signs, and fences while focusing on the visceral textures, reflections, and architectural elements found along the Embarcadero.

Dry Lights by Xavier Chassaing (2015, 4 min.)
This otherworldly film made in an imagined desert terrain surrounded by mountains glows with prehistoric and mythical sensibility as it teems with pulsating lights. The visuals are both alluring and unsettling.

350MYA by Terra Long (2016, 5 min.)
An ethereal landscape transformed by wind and water shimmers with light and warmth. Filled with tiny moments of cinematic observations, drops of water turn into brilliant icicles and the desert takes on the hue of a luminous deep yellow sheen.

Luminae by Dominic Angerame (2022, 4 min.)
Black-and-white imagery of a pulsating Sun reminds us of the intense animated glow of stars fueled by hydrogen and helium.

Let Your Light Shine by Jodie Mack (2014, 4 min.)
Handmade, optical polyrhythms and a thousand rainbows explode off the screen in this spectacle for prismatic spectacles
