Opening Ceremonies: Begins at 10:00 am. Learn more about our mission and our efforts in providing safe and supportive housing for survivors of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Joining us are Rachel Rakovan Mrs. Pittsburgh Pennsylvania America 2021 and Linda Ogden, survivor advisory board member.
The Purpose: To raise funds, awareness, and support in the opening of Eden's Farm's first therapeutic supportive housing for survivors of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation! We believe that only through community that we can holistically build a framework of support for survivors. We are thrilled to be partnering with Rollerskate to Liberate to make this home a reality. Even more, while we are skating and biking in Pittsburgh, movers from all across the country will also be participating and helping us raise support at the same time! If you cannot make it to the event, you can also participate virtually from your own homes. Pick a nearby park or the streets around your neighborhood and move to help us open the doors to this home. You can make this happen!
Activities: There will be awareness activities and stations located in the parking lot for attendees to participate and learn. Baked goods made by Eden's Farm Bakery and jewelry will be available for sale in support of Eden's Farm survivor job empowerment program. Lunch is also available for purchase at Stunt Pig Food Truck.
The Route: You will have a choice to move along the 1K, 5K or remain and skate, dance or move in the parking lot. The event will begin and end at the North Park Boathouse parking lot.
Skating, biking, running, dancing, ANY kind of movement is appreciated!
Closing ceremonies: Beginning at 11:30 am. For closing ceremonies, join us to hear from Leah Lizarondo, CEO and Co-Founder of 412 Food Rescue, and exciting announcements that you're not going to want to miss. As always, learn more about how you can volunteer and help Eden's Farm.
