Rise Up Against Hunger! Help Vale Church Package 100,000 Meals!

Vale's Christmas Tree Sale Was A Huge Success - Now Help Us Use the Proceeds to Fight World Hunger!

For the first time since 2020, Vale UMC will host a community-wide meal packaging event on Sunday February 5th! Partnering with global hunger relief organization Rise Against Hunger, volunteers will use ingredients purchased with Tree Sale proceeds to assemble and package a record 100,000 meals. These meals will be shipped worldwide to areas impacted by famine and natural disasters.

We will have three shifts: 11:30am-1:30pm, 2:00-4:00pm, and 4:30-6:30pm.
There are many ways you can assist, but the most important thing is to see how our Christmas tree donations get put to work.

The whole family can participate! Kids ages 8 and up can help; child care for children under 8 can be provided if you give us advance notice (please make a note in the comments section). And for teens, this is a great opportunity to earn community service hours for school.

We are excited to once again be able to host this event in person. Past events have had over 300 volunteers, so come join the fun! YOU can make a difference fighting world hunger, from a comfortable spot in Oakton Virginia!

Please note: All participants must cover their hair, so you may either wear the provided hair net or bring your own hat!
