REELpoetry Festival 2023 is a two-day international, curated, online poetry film/video festival organized by Houston-based nonprofit Public Poetry. The festival takes place on FEBRUARY 25-26, 2023. In addition to juried selections from open submissions, the festival will also feature programs by invited guest curators and presenters, ASL poetry and performances, craft triads, panels, networking sessions, and more.
All programs for the two-day festival are listed online. Programs include “Ecopoetry Films and Subjectivity,” “Deaf Poetry: Past, Present, and Future,” “Québec Has Many Tongues,” “Changing the world one poem at a time” (activist videopoems), and many more.
There are multiple ticket tiers available. Members of Public Poetry will receive discounted tickets. There is also a “pay-what-you-can” option.
All programs are accessible to the Deaf and hard-of-hearing, using ASL interpreters, or embedded text or captioning. All American Sign Language programs are captioned or interpreted in English
This event is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, the Texas Commission on the Arts, the Mid-America Arts Alliance, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
