Seventy-five years ago, the Red Oak Victory was launched down the ways at Kaiser-Richmond Shipyard No. 1. Who would have thought all those years ago that she would still be afloat and serving the community as an educational and entertainment venue? To celebrate the old gal's birthday, we're putting on the party of the year with live 1940s music, dancing, dinner, drinks and (of course), a special cake for our favorite Victory Ship, the Red Oak Victory.
Not only will you enjoy dinner and dancing but the ship will be open for tours as well. See the bridge, the captain's quarters, the original radio room, the guns, and even peer down into the engine room.
As with all our fundraising events, the money you spend on your tickets goes directly to the maintenance and restoration of the Red Oak Victory. Plus, when support The Launch Party you also support our community: local musicians The George Cole Orchestra will provide a classic 1940s big band sound and local Chef Halihl Guy will serve a first-class dinner.
Ticket options include a full sit down dinner for $50 or just come enjoy the music, drinks, and the unbeatable ambience of a historic ship for $25. Don't miss the maritime party of the year!
Artists / Speakers: George Cole Orchestra Time: 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
