We're back! Boise Basin Quilters Guild presents its 2022 Treasures of the Valley Quilt Show from 10am to 5pm on Friday, September 30th, and Saturday, October 1st, at Expo Idaho in Boise. Admission is $10 for one day or $15 for two-day pass. Children 6 and under are free. Purchase tickets on our website or at the door. The annual event is the largest professionally judged quilt show in Idaho and will feature hundreds of traditional, modern, and art quilts as well as exhibits and shopping.

Anyone can submit a quilt to be displayed or professionally judged (Deadline: August 18th). Check out our website for a full list of categories and challenges for adults, youth, and small groups. Category winners receive cash or gift card prizes.

This year's Featured Quilter is Linda Dixon, a native Idahoan who began embroidering at an early age and started teaching needlework and quilting in 1980. Along with Jo Inzer, she started the local chapter of Embroiderers Guild of America that led to the founding of Boise Basin Quilters. Textile arts are Linda's passion. It is a rare day that she doesn't spend at least an hour in her sewing room doing something with needle and thread.

Collections from Anne Rex, the SAQA Trunk Show, Quilt Whisperers, Friends of the Boise Firefighters, Piece Corps, and Men Who Quilt will be on display.

Featured exhibits include a Bed Turning - a historian recounts the stories of vintage quilts and a Jelly Roll Race - a fast paced sewing challenge open to all. Don't miss our Quilts of Valor Ceremony on Friday at 3:30 pm, where we will honor veterans by presenting them with patriotic quilts.

The Gift Garden provides the opportunity to browse among hundreds of beautiful handmade items. Shoppers will find quilts, table runners, wall hangings, bags-and more. The Gift Garden is a marketplace for all quilters (both Guild members and nonmembers) to offer quality pieces of work for sale at reasonable prices. Vendors will be on site with all your essential quilting supplies, sewing machines, patterns, fabric, and notions at our vendors booths. In past shows we have had upwards of 40 local and national vendors, many of which have deals and merchandise only available at shows.

A Silent Auction will feature both blocks and quilt tops made by members or donated. Participants can bid on these throughout the event and winners will be announced at the end of each day.

Proceeds from the Quilt Show directly support community outreach projects and education about the textile arts from the Boise Basin Quilters Guild, a 501©(3) non-profit organization. With your support, we can provide handmade quilts to hospitalized children, hats for chemotherapy patients, and other items to donate to local hospitals. The Boise Basin Quilters Guild has been providing a community for quilters in the Treasure Valley for the past 39 years.
