Portland lesbian Choir performs Be a Light

In 2002, Longview United Methodist Church (LUMC) began a study on the ways of understanding and supporting the LGBTQ community and adopted a policy of acceptance of all the following year. Longview UMC joined the Reconciling Ministries Network which is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion and justice in the life and ministry of the United Methodist Church. Longview UMC continues to be a Beacon of Diversity, a community where All Means All. 
We're kick starting our 20th anniversary celebration with the return visit of the Portland Lesbian Choir. The choir has been performing since 1986 and use their musical talents to build community and help transform the world. They will be performing their "Be A Light" Concert. The hour- long concert will feature pop and classical music.
Doors open at 6:30PM and suggested donation is $10. Some free tickets are available by calling the church office at 360.431.0433. LUMC is located at 2851 30th Avenue in Longview.
Proceeds will go to support the Severe Weather Shelter. The shelter is open during extreme temperature periods to provide safe space for those in need.
