Plein Air Paint Out: Reimagine the Erie Canal, September 28, 2024 in Fairport, New York

The third annual Fairport Plein Air takes place on Saturday, September 28th in the Village of Fairport.

While visitors stroll the village during the Fairport's Scarecrow Festival and Oktoberfest, artists from the Finger Lakes region will spend the morning “en plein air” (outdoors) with their paints and canvasses, painting a scene of their choosing in the beautiful Village of Fairport.

In the afternoon, all paintings will be displayed at Faircraft Brauhaus for an exhibition and sale. A sneak-peek ticketed event will allow attendees to enjoy a glass of beer, wine, or soda while previewing the art and mingling with the artists. This is an opportunity to purchase the art before the event is open to the public.

A public viewing will follow, along with “Best in Show”, "Juror's Choice", "Mayor's Choice", "Sponsor's Choice", and “People’s Choice” awards.

8:30 am: Artists check in at Faircraft Brauhaus
9:00 am - 1:00 pm: Artists paint throughout Fairport Village
1:00-2:00 pm: Artists set up for exhibit at Faircraft Brauhaus
2:00-3:00 pm: Exhibit Attendees - preview event for ticket holders
3:00 pm: Exhibit opens to the public
3:00-3:45 pm: Vote for People's Choice Award
4:00 pm: Prizes awarded

A delightful way to wrap up your visit to Scarecrow Festival or kickoff an evening at Oktoberfest – or just come for the art! Each painting is a one-of-a-kind piece of art that captures the individual artists' view of their surroundings.
