Pigapalooza!

The City of Mulberry welcomes guests to experience Pigapalooza! on March 8th and 9th. Pigapalooza! is a Florida BBQ Association sanctioned barbecue competition. Teams compete for cash and trophies to create the most lip-smacking barbecue. The fun is not only for teams! Guests can purchase award winning barbecue offerings while enjoying live music. Pigapalooza!'s younger guests can play in the Kid Zone, but that's not all; young grill masters can compete in Pigapalooza! Kids-que for trophies and $100.
All are welcome for this good time. Revenue generated is donated to Operation BBQ Relief as well as local community organizations. "Not only will there be delicious barbecue, but supporting Pigapalooza! helps strengthen our community and the community at large," states Director of Culture and Programming Chelsea Young.
Pigapalooza! will be hosted at American Legion Post 72 grounds. The event is open to the public on Friday, March 8th from 5:00 p.m. – 10 p.m. and on Saturday, March 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. George Morris and the Lariat Band will take the stage Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The Free Whiskey Band will delight audiences on Saturday, March 11th from 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. American Legion Post 72 will open its indoor bar, as well as an outdoor beer stand to the public (over 21 years old).
This year's event is proud to have Citizens' Bank and Trust as a presenting sponsor. Other sponsors include Lopez and Humphries, LLP, Pennoni, Rodda Construction, Boswell and Dunlap, LLP, , O' Cain, Inc., and Republic Services.
