Historic Trade Demonstrations from 1 to 4 PM. Witness trades and crafts performed at Pennsbury Manor during the 17th Century. Our blacksmiths, joiners (specialized carpenters), and spinners will be eager to talk to you about their work and its importance during Penn's time. Fun fact: In Colonial times, a spinning party was a political act (avoiding British-taxed goods), and wearing homespun clothing was a show of patriotism.
On 8/13, 1 to 4 PM, come and watch riveting Living History Theater. Judith Roe has been charged with the murder of a traveler who spent the night at her house in 1688. Sit in on her trial and learn the gory details.
On 8/20, 1 to 4 PM, come enjoy Open Hearth Cooking: Cook's Choice. Cooks will prepare recipes of their choice from the bounty of the summer harvest.
On 8/27, 1 to 4 PM, enjoy Beer Brewing and Garden Highlights. Beer brewing and maintaining a garden were critical to the lives of those living at Pennsbury Manor. Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of the recipes and plants that fed the early residents of PA. Fun fact: Pennsbury Manor's garden contains heritage plants with a direct lineage to the 17th Century.
