Paintings By Indianapolis Artist Alfredo Marín-Carle, At Gordy Fine Art In Muncie, May 5 - 28

Exhibition party, Thursday May 5, 5 - 8 pm. The show will be on view with works for sale through May 28. Visions, the title of the exhibit, states simply that these works of art convey what the artist sees, reflecting his lifetime fascination with eastern philosophies. “In the process of creation, I experience the Buddhist concept of interdependence,” says Marín-Carle, “that nothing exists on its own.” The artist builds up layers and then sands them down. He uses stencils to apply forms and shapes, then rubs them with chemicals and carves deep and aggressive marks that disturb their clarity. In this way he is exploring the creation and destruction always going on around us.
