Last years Opening of the Bay event was voted by Southcoast Almanac's readers as the best gala of 2019! We invite you to be part of this amazing southcoast event which impacts so many children all over New Bedford. Opening of the Bay is an unforgettable experience you will enjoy with valued business associates, potential customers, and friends while supporting a worthy cause. Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing, and a silent auction inside of one of New Bedford’s historic mills overlooking Clark's Cove and CBC's main facility.

Community Boating Center (CBC) connects Greater New Bedford's youth with mentors to enhance their lives. Its flagship program Summer Youth Sailing, uses boating and the marine environment as a tool to help instill important life lessons such as integrity, sound judgment, and teamwork.

In 2019, 87% of the children attending the CBC summer program received full or partial financial aid. These families do not have the ability to pay for their child(ren) to attend a summer program. Supporting and sponsoring CBC's annual fundraiser, the Opening of the Bay, is what enables these students to participate free of charge.

Donations are being accepted for the silent auction. Event sponsorship donations are also welcome. Interested parties can email Christina Rebello at [email protected], call 508.992.6219 or review sponsorship materials at www.communityboating.org/ootb/
