Online Watch Party: "Letter from Masanjia"

An American mother finds a mysterious letter, a call for help, in a box of Halloween decorations made in China that she picked up at her local Kmart. What she does next ignites a chain reaction that shudders the entire forced labor system in China.

But she worries if her actions had endangered this mysterious prisoner who risked his life to send the SOS. When she makes a trip overseas to seek him out, he is in the midst of an even more dangerous quest to expose a deadly persecution. (www.letterfrommasanjia.com)

After the screening at 8:15pm, we will have an online discussion of the movie with survivors of the notorious Masanjia labor camp, the same place where the letter was written.
